The Archaeology Strand of the HLF-funded Flodden Project is Being Recorded by Volunteer Blogs

The Archaeology element of the HLF-funded Flodden Project, which is running from this year right through to 2016, is making great progress as the groups of volunteers and Archaeologists are just finishing their second dig this year at Ladykirk.

Each day one volunteer from the dig is invited to write a blog of the day's events.  These fantastic talks through the individual's experiences are then available to view on the www.iflodden.info website.  The blogs cover the dig in the sun, wind, or rain, when finding interesting items, or sifting soil with no success.  Extremely witty and well written, check out an example of what you can read here (Geoff's blog from 8th May 2013).

The first dig this year was in a field just beside Norham Castle. Flodden Archaeology Manager, Chris Burgess, has published a short video synopsis of the dig and the findings from it on the same Flodden Archaeology website wwww.iflodden.info. To see the video, please click here. More information on each dig will go up on this website a short time after it is completed. Please keep checking the website for further details.

Chris is also always looking for interested people to join the Archaeology digs as volunteers. If you are interested in coming along to help out, please email flodden500@gmail.com to enquire about space and for further details.

If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch with the Flodden 1513 Ecomuseum at flodden1513@gmail.com.
