Flodden YAC meeting: Kite Aerial Photography

The next meeting of the Flodden YAC team will be held on Saturday 12th July 2014 from 10:00 - 12:00 at Ford Moss Colliery, 2.5 km east of Ford village.

Thanks to West Lothian Archaeological Trust's SNAP scheme, the Flodden Young Archaeologists' Club are now the proud owners of their very own kite aerial photography kit!

The group will be using the kit to take pictures of Ford Moss Colliery from the air.  These aerial images will offer the team a fresh perspective on the site at Ford Moss as some archaeological features may be more visible from the air than on the ground.

The team will also seach for evidence left by prehistoric people around Ford Moss with the help of archaeologist Dr Chris Burgess.

The Flodden Young Archaeologists’ Club is a club for young people who are interested in the archaeology and history of north Northumberland and the Scottish Borders.  If you’re aged between 8 and 17 and are interested in archaeology, why not join the Flodden Young Arhcaeologists’ Club?
